Good Intentions, Godly Hope | Windows that Witness Week 6

Day 1: The Power of Prayer

Reading: Mark 14:32-42

Devotional: Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane demonstrates the power of aligning our will with God's. Despite His anguish, Jesus submitted to the Father's plan. Today, reflect on areas in your life where you struggle to surrender to God's will. How might your prayer life change if you approached God with both honesty about your desires and willingness to accept His guidance? Practice praying, "Not my will, but yours be done" over a specific situation you're facing.

Day 2: Overcoming Weakness with God's Strength

Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Devotional: The disciples' failure to stay awake highlights our human frailty. Yet, God's power is made perfect in our weakness. Consider a personal weakness or struggle you're facing. How might acknowledging your limitations open the door for God's strength to work through you? Today, instead of relying on your own power, consciously invite God's strength into your areas of weakness.

Day 3: From Good Intentions to Faithful Service

Reading: James 2:14-26

Devotional: Good intentions alone are insufficient; God desires our faithful service. Examine your life for areas where you have good intentions but lack follow-through. What steps can you take to move from intention to action in your faith journey? Choose one specific way you can serve others or grow spiritually this week, and commit to doing it, relying on God's help.

Day 4: Hope in God's Unfailing Love

Reading: Psalm 130

Devotional: The Psalmist's words remind us to place our hope in God's unfailing love and redemption. In times of waiting or difficulty, how can you cultivate a spirit of hopeful anticipation for God's work in your life? Practice intentional moments of stillness today, focusing on God's faithfulness and allowing hope to grow in your heart.

Day 5: God's Presence in Our Suffering

Reading: Romans 8:18-39

Devotional: Jesus' experience in Gethsemane shows that even in our darkest moments, God is present. Reflect on a time of suffering in your life. How did you experience God's presence, even if you didn't recognize it at the time? Today, be attentive to signs of God's presence in both your joys and struggles, trusting that nothing can separate you from His love.
