How Much Should I Keep? | Windows that Witness Week 7

Day 1: Sacrificial Giving

Reading: Mark 12:41-44

Devotional: Jesus highlights the widow's sacrificial giving as an example of true devotion. Her two small coins represented everything she had to live on. This challenges us to consider our own approach to giving. Are we giving out of our surplus, or are we willing to sacrifice for God's kingdom? Reflect on how you can shift from asking "How much should I give?" to "How much should I keep?" Consider one area where you can give more sacrificially this week.

Day 2: God's Abundant Provision

Reading: Matthew 6:25-34

Devotional: Jesus teaches us not to worry about our daily needs, assuring us that God will provide. God always comes through in unexpected ways when we give sacrificially. Today, take inventory of God's provision in your life. Where have you seen His faithfulness, even in small ways? How can trusting in God's provision free you to be more generous? Commit to taking one step of faith in your giving, trusting that God will meet your needs.

Day 3: Unity in the Body of Christ

Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Devotional: Paul describes the church as a body with many parts, each playing a vital role. Everyone ought to be contributing their gifts to the church. What unique gifts has God given you? How are you using them to serve in our church? If you've been hesitant to get involved, pray for guidance on where God might be calling you to serve. Remember, the body functions best when all parts are working together.

Day 4: Stewardship of God's Blessings

Reading: Matthew 25:14-30

Devotional: This parable teaches us about faithful stewardship of what God entrusts to us. Early church members saw their resources as assets for God's kingdom rather than personal liabilities. How do you view the resources God has given you? Are you investing them for His kingdom or holding back out of fear or self-interest? Identify one way you can be a better steward of your time, talents, or treasures this week.

Day 5: Cheerful Giving

Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Devotional: Paul encourages the Corinthians to give generously and cheerfully, knowing that God loves a cheerful giver. It is possible for giving to shift from feeling like a burden to a joyful act of worship. Reflect on your attitude towards giving. Do you give grudgingly or with joy? Ask God to cultivate a spirit of cheerful generosity in your heart. Consider setting up a recurring gift to our church, viewing it as a regular act of worship rather than an obligation.
