Sermon Audio

"There's Room After All"

Day 1: Focused, Faithful Intention

Reading: Luke 5:17-26

Devotional: Today's passage showcases the power of focused, faithful intention. The friends of the paralyzed man were determined to bring him to Jesus, even when faced with obstacles. Their creative solution and persistence led to a miraculous encounter. Reflect on areas in your life where you need to cultivate this kind of intentional faith. Are there "roofs" you need to break through to bring yourself or others closer to Jesus? Remember, sometimes our faith can be the catalyst for someone else's healing and transformation. Pray for the courage and creativity to pursue Jesus with unwavering determination.

Day 2: Making Room for Others

Reading: Mark 2:1-12

Devotional: The crowd in this story initially blocked access to Jesus, but space was miraculously made available. This serves as a powerful reminder that there is always room at the feet of Jesus. Consider how you might be unintentionally blocking others from experiencing Christ's love and grace. Are you so focused on your own spiritual journey that you've neglected to invite others along? Ask God to help you create space in your life, schedule, and heart for those seeking an encounter with Jesus. Commit to being more aware of the needs around you and actively making room for others in your spiritual walk.

Day 3: The Power of Community

Reading: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Devotional: The story of the paralyzed man highlights the importance of spiritual community. Sometimes, we need others to carry us when we can't move forward on our own. Other times, we're called to be the ones doing the carrying. Reflect on your current spiritual support system. Do you have friends who can "lower you through the roof" when needed? Are you that kind of friend to others? Consider joining or forming a small group for accountability and support. Remember, our faith journey was never meant to be solitary – we're stronger together.

Day 4: Seeing with Eyes of Faith

Reading: Hebrews 11:1-6

Devotional: Jesus saw the faith of the friends and responded to it. This reminds us that faith is not just an internal reality but something that can be witnessed through our actions. How is your faith being demonstrated in tangible ways? Are you living in a manner that shows your trust in God's promises? Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your faith and guide you in expressing it more visibly. Look for opportunities today to act on your faith in ways that might inspire others and bring glory to God.

Day 5: Encountering Jesus, Changing Lives

Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Devotional: The encounter with Jesus radically changed the paralyzed man's life – not only was he physically healed, but his sins were forgiven. When we truly encounter Jesus, we can't remain the same. Reflect on how your life has been transformed by Christ. Are there areas where you still need His healing touch or forgiveness? Remember that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins and the power to make us new. As you've been changed by Christ, consider how you can be an agent of change in your community, helping others experience the transformative power of an encounter with Jesus.
