Five-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional

Day 1: Encountering the Risen Christ

Reading: John 20:19-20

Reflection: As we reflect on Jesus’ appearance to His disciples, let us ponder the locked doors of our own hearts. What fears are causing us to shut out the peace Christ offers? Today, consider the areas of your life where you need the reassurance of His presence.

Prayer: Lord, just as You stood among Your disciples and offered them peace, stand in the midst of my fears and doubts. Help me to unlock the doors of my heart to receive Your peace. Amen.

Day 2: The Wounds of Belief

Reading: John 20:24-25

Reflection: Thomas’s skepticism isn’t met with condemnation but with an invitation to believe. Where do you find yourself skeptical in your faith journey? Acknowledge these doubts as opportunities to experience Jesus more intimately.

Prayer: Faithful Savior, grant me the courage to express my doubts, and in Your grace, guide me to a stronger belief. Show me Your wounds, that I may find conviction and joy in Your resurrected life. Amen.

Day 3: Authority to Forgive

Reading: John 20:21-23

Reflection: Jesus not only brings peace but also empowers His followers to extend forgiveness. Reflect on the authority Christ has given you. Are there people in your life whom you need to forgive, or are you in need of seeking forgiveness?

Prayer: Almighty God, as You have forgiven me, equip me to forgive others. Help me to live out the authority You have bestowed upon Your children, that I may bring Your reconciliation to the world. Amen.

Day 4: The Blessing of Belief

Reading: John 20:26-29

Reflection: Blessed are those who believe without seeing. How does this promise impact your faith? Think about how you can live out this beatitude in your daily walk with God, trusting in what is unseen yet fully true.

Prayer: Jesus, my Lord and my God, increase my faith in what I cannot see. Bless me with the assurance of Your promises, and help me to walk by faith, not by sight. Amen.

Day 5: The Transformative Power of Prayer

Reading: Philippians 4:6-7

Reflection: Prayer is a powerful tool in overcoming doubt and fear. Consider the areas of your life where you need God's transformation. Bring these to Him in prayer, trusting in His power to change circumstances and hearts.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I bring before You my worries, doubts, and fears. In prayer, I seek Your transformative power. Grant me the peace that surpasses understanding as I trust in Your unfailing love. Amen.
