Five-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional

Day 1: The Breath of God

Reading: 2 Timothy 3:10-17

Devotional: The Scriptures are not merely human words, but are breathed out by God Himself. They carry the very life and power of the Almighty. As you read the Bible, know that you are encountering divine truth that is able to instruct, correct, train and equip you for every good work. Pray that the Holy Spirit would open your heart to receive God's Word afresh today.

Day 2: Encountering Jesus

Reading: John 5:39-40

Devotional: The ultimate purpose of Scripture is not just to gain knowledge, but to lead us into a living encounter with Jesus Christ. As you search the Scriptures, look for Jesus in every page. Ask God to reveal His love, grace and truth to you in a personal way. May your time in the Word draw you closer to the Savior.

Day 3: The Sword of the Spirit

Reading: Ephesians 6:10-17

Devotional: God's Word is a powerful spiritual weapon that can defend us against the attacks of the enemy and advance the Kingdom of God. As you arm yourself with the sword of the Spirit, believe that Scripture has the power to renew your mind, strengthen your faith and enable you to stand firm. Wield the Word with boldness, knowing that it will not return void.

Day 4: Shaped by Scripture

Reading: Psalm 119:9-16

Devotional: Consistent exposure to God's Word has a transformative effect on our lives. As you meditate on Scripture, invite the Holy Spirit to shape your thoughts, attitudes and actions. Allow the Word to correct you where needed and train you in righteousness. Commit to being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer.

Day 5: Hope in Suffering

Reading: Romans 15:4

Devotional: In the midst of trials and suffering, the Scriptures offer us hope and encouragement. The stories of God's faithfulness to His people remind us that we are not alone and that He is working all things together for our good. As you face challenges, cling to the promises of God's Word. May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him.
