What About Cremation? | You Asked For It Week 3

Day 1: The Hope of Resurrection

Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:20-26, 42-44

Devotional: Paul's powerful words remind us that Christ's resurrection is the firstfruits of our own future resurrection. Our earthly bodies may be weak and perishable, but our resurrected bodies will be glorious and imperishable. As you reflect on this passage, consider how the hope of resurrection impacts your daily life. How does this eternal perspective change the way you view your current struggles or physical limitations? Take time to thank God for the promise of a renewed, perfected body in eternity.

Day 2: The Presence of God in Suffering

Reading: Revelation 21:1-5

Devotional: John's vision of the new heaven and new earth offers profound comfort in times of suffering. God's promise to dwell among His people and wipe away every tear speaks to His deep love and care for us. As you meditate on this passage, consider areas of pain or loss in your life. How does the promise that God is "making all things new" bring hope to these situations? Pray for God's presence to be tangible in your current circumstances and for faith to trust in His ultimate renewal of all things.

Day 3: The Transforming Power of Faith

Reading: Philippians 3:20-21

Devotional: Paul's words here highlight the transformative power of Christ in our lives, both now and in eternity. Our citizenship in heaven gives us a new identity and purpose. Reflect on how your faith has changed you so far. What areas of your life still need to be brought under Christ's lordship? Pray for the Holy Spirit to continue transforming you, eagerly anticipating the day when Christ will fully transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

Day 4: The Victory Over Death

Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:51-57

Devotional: This passage celebrates the ultimate victory we have in Christ over death itself. The sting of death is removed because of what Jesus has accomplished. As you ponder these verses, consider how this victory impacts your view of death and your approach to life. How can you live more boldly and confidently in light of this truth? Thank God for His gift of victory through Jesus and ask for courage to face life's challenges with an eternal perspective.

Day 5: Living in Light of Eternity

Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Devotional: Paul encourages us to focus on the unseen eternal realities rather than our temporary troubles. This eternal perspective can radically change how we live each day. As you reflect on this passage, consider what it means to "fix our eyes on what is unseen." How can you cultivate this eternal mindset in your daily life? Pray for God to help you see your current circumstances through the lens of eternity, finding renewed strength and hope in His promises.
