Five-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional
Day 1: Saved by Grace Through Faith
Reading: Ephesians 2:8-9
Devotional: God's grace is a free gift that we cannot earn through our own efforts. It is only by placing our faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved. As you reflect on this truth today, thank God for his unmerited favor and ask him to increase your faith. Spend time meditating on how you can live each day in light of the amazing grace you have received.
Day 2: The Simplicity of Salvation
Reading: Romans 10:9-10
Devotional: While religion can often seem complex, the gospel message is beautifully simple: believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Today, find peace and assurance in knowing that your salvation is secure in Christ alone. If doubts arise, return to the simple truth of the gospel. Ask God to help you rest in his finished work on the cross.
Day 3: The Work of Sanctification
Reading: Philippians 1:6
Devotional: From the moment we place our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit begins the lifelong process of making us more like Jesus. Though we will still struggle with sin, we can have confidence that God will complete the good work he began in us. Reflect on areas where you have seen spiritual growth, and surrender to God the areas that need transformation. Trust that he is faithful to sanctify you.
Day 4: Perfected in Love
Reading: 1 John 4:16-18
Devotional: As we grow in faith, God fills our hearts with his perfect love that casts out all fear. Pray today that God would help you comprehend the vast dimensions of his love for you. Ask him to pour his love into your heart until it overflows to others. Choose to abide in his love moment by moment, trusting that he is conforming you to the image of Christ.
Day 5: The Urgency of Now
Reading: 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
Devotional: The gift of salvation is available to us now—we don't have to wait! Resist the temptation to delay drawing near to God. Today is the day to seek him, to repent of sin, and to walk in intimate fellowship with him. Reflect on the areas of your life where you have been resisting the Holy Spirit's work. Surrender afresh and embrace the abundant life God has for you now.
